World leaders reacted with strong condemnation following the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that left at least 26 people, including two foreign nationals, dead.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a post on X (formerly Twitter), “The horrific terrorist attack in Kashmir today is utterly devastating. My thoughts are with those affected, their loved ones, and the people of India.”
Australian PM Anthony Albanese said, “I am shocked by the horrific terror attack on innocent civilians in Jammu and Kashmir overnight. There is no justification for this violence and Australia condemns it. Our hearts go out to the injured, to those mourning loved ones and to everyone in Australia touched by this terrible news.”
Earlier, US President Donald Trump called the attack “deeply disturbing” and expressed strong support for India. He said, “The United States stands strong with India against Terrorism. We pray for the souls of those lost, and for the recovery of the injured.”
US Vice President JD Vance, who is currently in India with his family, said, “Usha and I extend our condolences to the victims… Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn this horrific attack.”
Moreover, Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the attack and said, “We expect that its sponsors and perpetrators will face a deserved punishment.” He also reiterated Russia’s commitment to increasing cooperation with India in counter-terrorism efforts.
