South superstar Prabhas, renowned for his roles in ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Salaar,’ is set to star in the upcoming horror-comedy film ‘The Raja Saab,’ directed by Maruthi. The film is scheduled for release on December 5, 2025.

In a surprising move, Prabhas has reportedly slashed his usual remuneration from Rs 150 crore to Rs 100 crore for this project. This decision is believed to be influenced by the lukewarm response to his previous film, Adipurush, produced by People Media Factory, which received a lot of flak and underperformed at the box office.

Despite this, Prabhas’s film, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, performed well at the box office, earning over Rs 600 crore. That apart, Kalki 2898 AD also garnered nearly Rs 1,200 crore worldwide.

The Raja Saab marks a shift from Prabhas’s usual action-packed roles, as it blends romance, comedy, and horror, offering a fresh cinematic experience. The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhi Kumar in prominent roles.

Fans can look forward to the teaser release on June 16, 2025, which is expected to build anticipation for the film’s December release.

The Raja Saab is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the banner of People Media Factory, with cinematography by Karthik Palani and music composed by Thaman S.

The teaser is just around the corner, dropping on June 16. Prabhas’ next big film and his first after the blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD has had a bit of a bumpy ride. The movie was originally supposed to hit theatres in April 2025 but got delayed, sparking rumours that the makers were eyeing a festive release instead. On June 3, the makers finally ended all the guessing and officially locked in the new release date.

The film is all set to hit theatres this December in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, making it a full-on Pan-India treat. As per the official announcement, The Raja Saab will hit theatres worldwide on December 5. The film is directed by Maruthi, the man behind hits like Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, Mahanubhavudu, and Manchi Rojulochaie.

Joining Prabhas in this supernatural entertainer are Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhi Kumar, who play key roles.
