Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Friday met the foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
The Prime Minister expressed his delight over the meeting, reaffirming its deep-rooted historical and cultural ties with the Central Asian region. Reiterating a shared stance on global security, India and the Central Asian nations also expressed strong resolve in the collective fight against terrorism, calling for unity in addressing common challenges.
“Delighted to meet with the Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. India deeply cherishes its historical ties with the countries of Central Asia,” said PM Modi on X, sharing a picture after the meeting.
During the meeting, India also reiterated its stand on the fight against terrorism.
“Look forward to working together to further deepen our cooperation in trade, connectivity, energy, fintech, food security and health for mutual progress and prosperity. We stand firm and resolute in our collective fight against terrorism,” PM Modi added.
