Israel Prepared for Strike on Iran as US Orders Personnel Evacuation Amid Escalating Tensions.
Israel has signaled it is fully prepared to launch a military operation against Iran in the coming days, US officials have reportedly been told. The Biden administration, anticipating potential retaliation from Tehran, has begun pulling non-essential personnel from diplomatic missions and bases across the Middle East.
The US State Department on Thursday ordered non-emergency staff to leave Iraq, citing “heightened regional tensions.” American military installations in Bahrain, Kuwait, and the UAE have been placed on high alert, with personnel being relocated from areas potentially within Iran’s missile range.
Middle East on Edge
President Donald Trump reiterated the US stance against a nuclear-armed Iran, stating, “They can’t have a nuclear weapon. Very simple. We’re not going to allow that.” Despite a strained diplomatic climate, Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff is still expected to pursue further nuclear talks with Tehran.
The recent escalation follows failed negotiations and growing intelligence suggesting Iran may soon reach key nuclear thresholds. According to officials, Israel’s potential strike would aim to prevent that from happening.
Cyber Threats and Airspace Closures
Amid rising tensions, Iran is suspected of launching cyberattacks targeting allied nations and disrupting GPS signals across Iranian and Iraqi airspace. Multiple countries, including Israel, Jordan, and Kuwait, have issued airspace restrictions due to the volatile situation.
Netanyahu and Trump Discuss Military Options
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly spoke with President Trump to discuss potential strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. In response, Iran’s National Security Council issued a statement threatening to target both Israeli and American military bases if provoked.
“The response will be swift and decisive,” said an Iranian official.
US Evacuates Personnel
As a precaution, the US is scaling back its presence in the region. “President Trump is committed to protecting American lives. Based on a thorough assessment, we have decided to reduce our footprint in Iraq,” a US State Department official told The Times of Israel.
While no final decision on military action has been confirmed, the region remains on high alert as diplomatic options narrow and military preparations intensify.
