Technical Snags Disrupt IndiGo and SpiceJet Flights; Alternate Arrangements Made.
An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Leh was forced to return to the national capital on Thursday morning due to a technical snag, the airline confirmed. The Airbus A320 aircraft, operating as flight 6E 2006, was airborne for over two hours before turning back to Indira Gandhi International Airport, according to data from Flightradar24.
“The aircraft returned due to a technical issue that caused operational restrictions for landing in Leh,” said an IndiGo spokesperson. “As per standard procedure, the pilot opted to return to Delhi.” The airline added that the aircraft is currently undergoing maintenance and that an alternate plane was arranged to fly passengers to Leh with minimal delay.
SpiceJet Flight to Tirupati Returns After Takeoff
In a separate incident on Thursday, a SpiceJet flight from Hyderabad to Tirupati also had to return shortly after takeoff due to a technical problem.
Flight SG 2696 took off at 6:19 am and was scheduled to land in Tirupati at 7:40 am. However, the aircraft returned to Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport soon after departure. SpiceJet has not reported any safety concerns, and all passengers were safely accommodated.
IndiGo Faces Another Delay on Delhi–Raipur Route
Just a day earlier, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Raipur faced a delay on arrival, with passengers stuck inside the aircraft for nearly 40 minutes due to a technical issue with the door. Among those onboard were former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Raipur Mayor Meenal Choubey. IndiGo later stated the delay was caused by a minor technical fault and that all passengers were deplaned safely.
