Swiatek Destroys Anisimova to Win Maiden Wimbledon Title with Double Bagel.
Iga Swiatek’s long quest for Wimbledon glory ended in historic style on Saturday, July 12, as the World No. 2 demolished Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in a 57-minute masterclass on Centre Court. The victory handed Swiatek her first Wimbledon title, her first Grand Slam crown on grass, and her fifth major overall. But more remarkably, it made her the first player—male or female—in the Open Era to win a Wimbledon singles final without dropping a single game.
Anisimova, fresh off a stunning semifinal upset over World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, was simply no match for the clinical precision and intensity Swiatek brought to the final. The American struggled from the start, broken in the opening game and completely unable to find rhythm or resistance.
Swiatek stormed through the first set in just 25 minutes, firing winners at will and committing only two unforced errors to Anisimova’s 14. The momentum never shifted. The second set was a carbon copy of the first. Swiatek broke early, held confidently, and piled on the pressure. Even when Anisimova dug deep to save two break points at 0-2, Swiatek calmly converted the third. From there, it was a procession.
With the crowd watching in stunned silence, the Polish star wrapped up the match with a sixth break of serve and a love hold, sealing one of the most dominant performances in a Grand Slam final. Swiatek’s Wimbledon triumph completes her Grand Slam surface collection, adding grass to her clay dominance at Roland Garros and past hard-court success. It also marks her first Slam title since her third French Open crown last year.
For Anisimova, it was a painful finish to what had been a breakout run. For Swiatek, it was perfection.
