Hema Malini Pays Last Respects to Dheeraj Kumar at Mumbai Prayer Meet.
Veteran actor and politician Hema Malini attended the prayer meet of late actor-producer Dheeraj Kumar in Mumbai on Friday, offering her condolences to his grieving family and remembering his legacy in film and television.
Industry Pays Tribute
Known for his roles in Roti Kapda Aur Makaan and for producing iconic TV shows like Om Namah Shivay and Adalat, Dheeraj Kumar passed away on July 15 at the age of 79. His funeral was followed by a prayer meet, which drew many from the film and television industry. Actor Poonam Dhillon was also spotted at the gathering.
Several videos from the prayer meet circulated online, showing Hema Malini meeting Kumar’s family and paying tribute to the veteran artist.
Cause of Death and Legacy
Kumar had been admitted to the ICU at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital after developing pneumonia. “He was admitted with fever, cold, and cough, and passed away at 11:00 am,” confirmed Ajay Shukla, a family friend.
Dheeraj Kumar had a distinguished career across Hindi and Punjabi cinema, and later as a successful television producer. One of his last public appearances was at the inauguration of the ISKCON temple in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.
