Known for his appreciation of cinema across languages and regions, Arjun posted heartfelt tributes for several recipients on social media.

The 71st National Film Awards were officially announced on August 1 in New Delhi, honouring excellence in Indian cinema for 2023. One of the standout moments of the evening was the joint Best Actor recognition for Shah Rukh Khan (Jawan) and Vikrant Massey (12th Fail). Rani Mukerji was named Best Actress for her role in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway.

The final list of winners was revealed at a press conference held at the National Media Centre after the jury submitted its report to Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State L. Murugan.

Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, 12th Fail is based on the real-life journey of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame poverty and adversity to become an IPS officer. Massey plays the lead role, with Medha Shankr portraying his wife, Shraddha Joshi Sharma. The film also features Anant Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee in key supporting roles.
