Kangana Ranaut Responds to Manisha Koirala Calling Her a ‘Brilliant, Phenomenal Actor’

Actor Kangana Ranaut has responded after Manisha Koirala hailed her as a “brilliant, phenomenal actor.” On Sunday, Kangana shared a clip on Instagram Stories in which Manisha praised her during an interview with Filme Shilmy.

Listing her favourite “new age” performers, Manisha named Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Rajkummar Rao, Alia Bhatt, Jaideep Ahlawat, and debutant Junaid Khan. “In the big star category, Kangana is a brilliant actor. She is a phenomenal actor,” she said, adding that Alia is “hardworking” and “thorough.”

Kangana reacted to the clip with a “Thank you ma’am” message and heart, folded hands, and bouquet emojis. Manisha has praised Kangana before, telling Pinkvilla in 2021: “Kangana is also brilliant. I loved her in Queen.”

Manisha was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Netflix series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (2024), which broke streaming records despite mixed reviews.

Kangana last appeared in Emergency (2025), co-starring Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, and Milind Soman. The film earned ₹20 crore at the box office. She will soon make her Hollywood debut in the horror drama Blessed Be the Evil, alongside Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone, with filming set to begin this summer in New York.
