Shubman Gill Named Vice-Captain, Bumrah Returns as India Pick Asia Cup T20 Squad.

India on Tuesday announced their 15-member squad for the ACC Men’s Asia Cup T20, naming Test captain Shubman Gill as vice-captain and recalling Jasprit Bumrah to lead the pace attack. The team will be led by Suryakumar Yadav.

The tournament will be played in the UAE from 9–28 September. India begin their campaign against hosts UAE in Dubai on 10 September, face Pakistan at the same venue on 14 September, and play Oman in Abu Dhabi on 19 September.

Sanju Samson has been named first-choice wicketkeeper, with Jitesh Sharma preferred over Dhruv Jurel as backup. Gill replaces Axar Patel as deputy, while the middle order features Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh and Jitesh.

Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube provide all-round options. The bowling attack is led by Bumrah, alongside Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh. Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel form the spin unit.
