Minneapolis Shooter Left Disturbing Messages on Guns, Killed Two Students
On Wednesday, a gunman opened fire at a church service for schoolchildren in Minneapolis, killing two students. Videos from his now-deleted YouTube channel show messages such as “Kill Donald Trump” and “Nuke India” written on his firearms.
The shooter, identified as 23-year-old Robin Westman, used a rifle, shotgun, and pistol to fire dozens of rounds at Annunciation Catholic School. Westman was later found dead in the parking lot, reportedly from a self-inflicted gunshot. Court records indicate Westman legally changed their name from Robert in 2020, identifying as female.
One video, about 10 minutes long, showed a cache of weapons, ammunition, and loaded magazines with inscriptions including:
- “Kill Donald Trump” and “Kill Trump now”
- “Israel must fall” and “Burn Israel”
“Nuke India”
“Where is your God?” and “For the children”
Names of past school shooters were also written on the magazines, with some messages in Cyrillic. The video also featured a letter apologizing to Westman’s family. A second video, nearly 20 minutes long, displayed two journals: one over 150 pages written in Cyrillic, and another more than 60 pages, with its last entry dated August 21, 2025.
US Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the videos’ authenticity, calling the inscriptions evidence of a “deeply sick murderer.” Officials said Westman legally purchased all weapons, had no criminal record, and acted alone. President Donald Trump ordered flags flown at half-staff nationwide. This attack marks the 146th such shooting in the US this year.
