Bihar on High Alert After Jaish-e-Mohammed Terrorists Enter from Nepal.
Bihar Police have issued a statewide high alert after intelligence indicated that three Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed operatives crossed into the state via Nepal. The suspects—Hasnain Ali (Rawalpindi), Adil Hussain (Umerkot), and Mohammad Usman (Bahawalpur)—reportedly reached Kathmandu in mid-August before entering Bihar last week.
Passport details of the suspects have been circulated to border district police, and security agencies have been directed to increase surveillance and intelligence collection. District units are actively monitoring for suspicious activity.
Security has been reinforced along Bihar’s 729-km open border with Nepal, particularly in Seemanchal districts such as Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Supaul, Araria, and East and West Champaran. The porous border remains a hotspot for cross-border movement and infiltration.
India shares land borders with seven countries and maritime boundaries with Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Indonesia.
