Trump Withdraws Secret Service Protection for Former VP Kamala Harris.

US President Donald Trump has revoked the extended Secret Service protection for former Vice President Kamala Harris, a White House official confirmed on Friday.

By law, former vice presidents receive six months of security coverage after leaving office. Harris’ protection had been extended by President Joe Biden for an additional year, but Trump’s memo, effective September 1, 2025, ends any security measures beyond the statutory requirement.

The move comes weeks before Harris embarks on a nationwide book tour for her memoir 107 Days, recounting her 2024 presidential campaign. With the revocation, she will lose her assigned agents, residence surveillance, and intelligence support—services that would cost millions if arranged privately.

Since taking office, Trump has similarly ended Secret Service protection for several figures, including Hunter and Ashley Biden and former NIAID director Dr. Anthony Fauci.
