BCCI to Decide Top Posts Ahead of September AGM.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will hold a closed-door meeting in the coming days to shortlist and finalise candidates for the posts of president and vice-president, ahead of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled in Mumbai later this month.

While the secretary, joint secretary and treasurer are likely to continue, the president’s position remains undecided. According to insiders, the choice could range from a former India cricketer to an experienced administrator, with the final call expected after the leadership huddle.

Vice-president Rajeev Shukla has emerged as a central figure, with three options on the table: continuing in his current role, stepping up as president, or moving to the IPL chairmanship. Sources say his continuation as vice-president is most probable, though there is also a “60-40 chance” of him becoming president.

The IPL chair could also change hands, with former BCCI treasurer Anirudh Choudhury and Bengal’s Avishek Dalmiya among the frontrunners. A formal AGM notice is expected within days. The high-level meeting is likely to shape not only the upcoming elections but also the board’s power balance.
