Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Hails PM Modi as ‘Strong Father, Caring Mother’

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his humility and leadership style, describing him as a mix of strength and compassion.

In an interview with NDTV, Gupta said, “He is like a strong father who can take tough decisions, and the next moment, he feels like a caring mother, reminding us to eat on time, meditate, and practice yoga.” She also called the Prime Minister “a saint” for his down-to-earth behaviour with colleagues and opposition leaders alike.

Her comments come soon after Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17, when several world leaders, including US President Donald Trump, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, and Italian PM Giorgia Meloni, extended greetings, underscoring India’s growing global stature.

Gupta also spoke about her government’s priorities in Delhi, including efforts to clean the Yamuna River, address waterlogging, and expand women-focused initiatives. Referring to the August 20 attack on her during a Jan Sunwai event, she said it would not stop her from meeting people directly.
