Demi Lovato Joins Diplo, Debuts New Song at MISTR’s National PrEP Day Celebration in LA.

Singer Demi Lovato lit up Los Angeles on October 9 as she joined MISTR’s first-ever National PrEP Day celebration at The Abbey in West Hollywood — a night that blended star power, music, and an important message about sexual health.

The evening took an exciting turn when Lovato surprised fans by hopping into Diplo’s DJ booth to debut her brand-new single, Kiss, which was officially released the next day alongside its music video.

“Let’s make out, have fun and be safe with MISTR!” Lovato told the cheering crowd, setting the tone for a night filled with energy, empowerment, and positivity.

A Star-Studded Celebration

The event quickly became a glittering Hollywood affair, with Dua Lipa headlining the musical lineup and performing hits like New Rules, Don’t Start Now, and Houdini. The show, hosted by Bob the Drag Queen, saw appearances from Cardi B, Tamar Braxton, Kim Petras, Matt Bomer, NeNe Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, Omar Apollo, and Colton Underwood, among others.

MISTR’s celebration capped off its 10-day campaign aimed at encouraging 10,000 new people to start using PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) — a preventive treatment that reduces the risk of HIV transmission by up to 99%.

Lovato on Supporting Sexual Health Awareness

Speaking on the blue carpet, Lovato said she was proud to stand behind MISTR’s mission. “MISTR is doing incredible work for the community. Everyone deserves health care that’s affordable and accessible — especially for something as important as PrEP,” she told People.

“It’s inspiring to see people come together to educate, entertain, and uplift one another. That’s what we all need right now,” she added.

MISTR’s Vision: Ending HIV

MISTR founder and CEO Tristan Schukraft said the goal of the campaign was clear: to make ending HIV a reality.
“We already have the tools,” Schukraft said. “Taking PrEP means taking control of your sexual health — just like the birth control pill did for women.”

Lovato, who recently tied the knot with singer-songwriter Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, is gearing up to release her new album It’s Not That Deep on October 24, featuring tracks like Fast and Here All Night.
