Honeymoon Destinations for 2025: Goa, Phu Quoc and More Top Picks for Indian Couples.

For many newlyweds, the honeymoon is the first big adventure together—a time to unwind, explore, and create lasting memories. This year, Indian couples are embracing a mix of classic favourites and exciting new destinations, according to a recent report by travel platform Agoda. From sun-kissed beaches and serene lakesides to bustling cities and hidden island retreats, the search for the perfect romantic escape is as diverse as it is inspiring.

India’s Favourite Honeymoon Spots

Goa remains India’s most popular domestic honeymoon destination for the second consecutive year. Known for its golden beaches, boutique resorts, vibrant culinary scene, and lively nightlife, Goa strikes the perfect balance between fun and relaxation.

Udaipur, the “City of Lakes,” takes the second spot. With its majestic palaces, tranquil lakes, and old-world charm, Udaipur appeals to couples seeking romance steeped in heritage.

Mumbai ranks third, offering a cosmopolitan mix of glamour and energy, while Jaipur and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands complete the top five. The Andamans are increasingly popular as a tropical paradise close to home, ideal for couples seeking island vibes without international travel.

International Getaways

On the global front, Dubai continues to dominate. With luxury hotels, desert adventures, and world-class entertainment, the city remains a favourite for couples looking to indulge.

Phuket and Bangkok follow closely, while Bali and Pattaya continue to attract honeymooners seeking a mix of culture, beaches, and adventure.

Rising Star: Phu Quoc Island

A breakout destination this year is Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam. Entering the top ten for the first time, it has surged to sixth place with a staggering 700% growth in search interest. Affordable, exotic, and blessed with natural beauty, Phu Quoc is quickly becoming a favourite for couples looking for a unique Southeast Asian getaway.

Agoda’s data shows that Indian honeymooners are drawn to a balance of beach and island destinations alongside culturally rich cities that offer both relaxation and exploration. The insights are based on searches made by Indian travellers on Agoda between January and September 2025 for trips scheduled from November 2025 to January 2026, compared to the same period last year.

Whether it’s a royal escape in Udaipur, a sun-soaked retreat in Goa, or a luxurious adventure in Dubai, newlyweds in 2025 are chasing experiences that promise romance, relaxation, and unforgettable memories.
