Malaysia PM Anwar Ibrahim Condemns Delhi Red Fort Blast, Offers Condolences.
Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has strongly condemned the Red Fort car blast in Delhi, calling it a “senseless tragedy” and expressing solidarity with India. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), he extended heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and all those affected.
“If confirmed as an act of terror, it deserves the strongest condemnation. There can be no justification for violence targeting innocent lives,” Ibrahim said. He also praised first responders and authorities working to investigate the incident.
The blast occurred around 6:52 pm near Lal Qila Metro Station when a Hyundai i20 with a Haryana registration exploded, killing nine people — including traders and commuters — and injuring over 20, several critically. Vehicles nearby were damaged, and panic ensued among pedestrians.
Delhi Police invoked provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) following forensic inputs suggesting terror involvement. The incident comes shortly after authorities recovered 2,900 kg of explosives in Faridabad, roughly 50 km from Delhi, raising further security concerns.
