Lajpat Nagar resident Bhavna Bajaj has won her consumer case against the Subway outlet in Lajpat Nagar-II after a live worm was found in the Veg Shammi Sandwich she purchased.
The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission–II, New Delhi, found the outlet guilty of serving unsafe and unhygienic food, calling it a clear case of gross negligence.
The Commission has ordered Eversub India Pvt. Ltd. to pay ₹20,000 in compensation within three months for the physical discomfort and mental harassment caused to the complainant.
The matter was effectively pursued by Advocate Mridula Sharma of Lex Jurists, whose representation helped secure relief for the consumer.
The verdict serves as a strong reminder of the need for strict food safety practices and reaffirms the power of consumers to hold establishments accountable.
