Bhojpuri Star-MP Pawan Singh Files Two Police Complaints After Bishnoi Gang Threat Calls; Crime Branch Launches Probe.
Bhojpuri actor and MP Pawan Singh has raised a security alarm after receiving multiple threatening calls from unidentified individuals claiming to be linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The callers, using numbers traced to Bihar and Mumbai, allegedly demanded money and warned him against appearing on stage with Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
Two Complaints Filed After Extortion Threats
As per an IANS report, Singh has filed two formal complaints with the Mumbai Police following consecutive extortion calls referencing the Bishnoi gang. The complaints have been handed over to the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch, which has begun a comprehensive investigation into the origin and motive behind the threats.
One of the callers reportedly warned Singh of “serious consequences” if he went ahead with an event involving Salman Khan. Several members of Singh’s team also received similar messages, suggesting a coordinated intimidation attempt.
Singh to Appear Before Crime Branch
With the probe underway, Pawan Singh and his team members are expected to appear before Crime Branch officers to record detailed statements and provide supporting evidence. Police are analysing call data and digital footprints to track down the individuals behind the threats.
Recent Row With Second Wife Jyoti Singh
This episode comes weeks after Pawan Singh was embroiled in a public dispute with his second wife, Jyoti Singh. In October, she posted an emotional video alleging she was prevented from entering his Lucknow home and was informed of an FIR against her while being detained outside.
Her video quickly went viral, prompting Pawan Singh to deny the allegations. He claimed he had invited her inside respectfully and that the viral clip did not show the full context.
Work Continues Despite Threats
Amid heightened security concerns, Pawan Singh remains committed to his professional engagements. He is set to appear as a guest on the upcoming season of the cooking-based reality show Laughter Chefs Season 3, even as police continue investigating the threats.
