Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa’s ‘Homebound’ has been shortlisted for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards, marking a major milestone for the film. Bollywood celebrities, including Kiara Advani, have expressed their excitement. Sharing the film’s poster on Instagram, Kiara wrote, “Congratulations Team Homebound!!!”

The film was also celebrated by Dharma Movies, which posted, “We’re deeply grateful for the extraordinary love and support we’ve received from around the world.”

About the Shortlist
Homebound joins 14 other films from around the world, including Argentina’s Belén, Brazil’s The Secret Agent, France’s It Was Just an Accident, Germany’s Sound of Falling, Japan’s Kokuho, and South Korea’s No Other Choice. Academy members will now review all shortlisted films before final nominations are announced.

Set in a northern Indian village, Homebound follows two childhood friends striving to pass the national police exam, a pursuit that tests their friendship amid challenges. Director Neeraj Ghaywan explained, “The film is inspired by a true story published as an op-ed in The New York Times. It’s about friendship, migration, and the struggles that push people to leave their homes—not just for jobs, but existential reasons.”

Kiara Advani’s Next Steps
Kiara was last seen in War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. While the film underperformed at the box office, fans are eagerly awaiting news about her upcoming projects.
