Zubeen Garg Death Case: Singapore Rules Out Foul Play, Assam SIT Charges Four With Murder.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) on Friday stated that it “suspects no foul play” in the death of singer Zubeen Garg, urging the public to avoid spreading unverified information. The Singapore High Commission in India echoed the call, emphasizing that the investigation is ongoing.
According to the SPF:
“The case is still being investigated under the Singapore Coroners Act 2010. Based on investigations so far, we do not suspect foul play. Once complete, findings will be submitted to the State Coroner, who will hold a Coroner’s Inquiry scheduled for January–February 2026.”
Assam SIT Files Charges
Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Assam Police has submitted a 12,000-page chargesheet in the CJM court, naming seven individuals and pressing murder charges against four of them.

These four face murder charges, while Garg’s cousin, Sandipan Garg, has been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The singer’s two PSOs, Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya, have been charged with criminal conspiracy and criminal breach of trust related to misappropriation of entrusted funds.
Background
Garg had traveled to Singapore to attend the North East India Festival (NEIF), where he tragically died while swimming in the sea on September 19, 2025. The Assam government subsequently formed an SIT to investigate his death.
