Nepal Panel to Summon Former PM Oli Over Deadly Gen Z Protests.
A commission set up by Nepal’s interim government to investigate the September 8–9 Gen Z protests will summon former Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli for questioning, officials said Thursday.
The protests in Kathmandu turned deadly when police opened fire, killing at least 19 youths. Nationwide, the unrest over the two days claimed 77 lives. Oli, however, has previously refused to appear before the commission, challenging its impartiality and questioning its legitimacy.
