With Stranger Things Season 5 now concluded, fans are eagerly awaiting details about the upcoming spin-off. While a release date hasn’t been announced, creators Matt and Ross Duffer have revealed that the series will explore the mystery behind the stone Henry Creel found in the suitcase—an object that connected him to the Mind Flayer.

“There are lingering questions about the rock—where it came from, the scientist, and all of that,” Matt Duffer told The Hollywood Reporter. “The spin-off is not about rocks or mining the rocks, but that loose end from the finale will be addressed.”

The Duffer Brothers described the spin-off as introducing “an entirely new mythology” that will answer unanswered questions from the series. “It’s not specifically about the Mind Flayer or the Upside Down, but it will provide answers to lingering questions related to Henry’s memory,” Matt added.

The spin-off project was first confirmed in 2022, and the duo is reportedly set to begin work this month, though no official premiere date has been announced. Meanwhile, Stranger Things Season 5 wrapped on Netflix India on January 1. CNN-News18 Showsha said of the finale:
