Shahid Kapoor’s ‘O’Romeo’ Trailer Launch Cancelled Following Legal Notice.
The trailer launch of Shahid Kapoor’s O’Romeo has reportedly been cancelled amid security concerns. The move comes after Sanober Shaikh, daughter of Hussain Ustara, sent a legal notice to the filmmakers, claiming the movie portrays her father in a negative light and demanding Rs 2 crore in compensation. She has also requested that promotional events be paused until her concerns are addressed.
No official comment has yet come from the film’s makers regarding the cancellation.
Legal Notice
The notice, addressed to producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Vishal Bhardwaj, alleges that O’Romeo could harm Hussain Ustara’s reputation. Along with monetary compensation, Shaikh has reportedly asked the team to halt promotional activities until her issues are resolved.
O’Romeo marks the first collaboration between Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bhardwaj and reunites Vishal with Shahid Kapoor after Kaminey (2009), Haider (2014), and Rangoon (2017). The film also introduces Triptii Dimri alongside Shahid.
The teaser hints at a tale of unrequited love, passion, and revenge, with Shahid Kapoor flaunting full-body tattoos, fighting goons, and firing guns. The ensemble cast also includes Nana Patekar, Disha Patani, Vikrant Massey, Aruna Irani, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Farida Jalal.
O’Romeo is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 13.
