IndiGo Confirms Refunds for December Flight Disruptions, Offers Travel Vouchers.
IndiGo has processed refunds for all passengers affected by flight cancellations between December 3 and 5, the aviation regulator DGCA said on Friday. The airline has credited payments to the original sources and, as an additional measure, is offering two travel vouchers of ₹5,000 each, valid for 12 months.
DGCA has been monitoring the airline’s compliance with regulations covering denied boarding, cancellations, and delays. While refunds for December 3-5 have been cleared, some passengers affected by cancellations between December 2-9 continue to report delays on social media.
Following the disruptions, DGCA set up a four-member committee to investigate the causes, submitting its report on December 27. The Ministry of Civil Aviation is reviewing the findings and may take further action. Union Minister K. Rammohan Naidu noted that over ₹750 crore had already been refunded to passengers.
