Businessman Raj Kundra was seen stepping out in Mumbai with wife Shilpa Shetty shortly after being granted bail in a money laundering case linked to an alleged bitcoin scam.
The couple appeared relaxed as they met a few close friends for dinner at a city hotspot. Shilpa was photographed warmly greeting a friend before heading toward their car. Raj, who was already seated inside, stepped out briefly to exchange a handshake and a few words before the couple left together. For the outing, Shilpa chose an elegant white ensemble layered with a blazer, while Raj kept it casual in a white T-shirt and beanie.
Court Grants Bail
Kundra was granted bail by a special court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in Mumbai in connection with a ₹6,606 crore bitcoin-linked case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) continues to investigate the matter.
Addressing the media briefly after the court’s decision, Kundra said he has faith in the judiciary and will follow due process, adding that he believes truth will prevail.
Background Of The Allegations
In September 2025, the ED filed a chargesheet naming Kundra in connection with an alleged cryptocurrency fraud involving Amit Bhardwaj, linked to gainbitcoin.com. The case pertains to complaints registered in 2018 at police stations in Pune, where investors claimed they were misled with promises of high returns through bitcoin mining schemes.
Investigators have alleged that 285 bitcoins were acquired from Bhardwaj and that certain wallet-related details were not disclosed. Kundra’s lawyer has stated that he has cooperated fully with authorities and has appeared before the ED multiple times since 2021.
Kundra has been granted bail on a ₹1 lakh bond. The investigation is ongoing, and the matter remains under judicial consideration.
