Months After Cancer Battle, Dipika Kakar Faces Fresh Health Concern

Actor Dipika Kakar is dealing with a fresh health concern just months after her battle with stage 2 liver cancer. Her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, recently informed fans that doctors have detected a 13mm cyst in her stomach, for which she will soon undergo a minor surgical procedure.

Health scare after sudden pain

In a recent vlog, Shoaib revealed that Dipika had been experiencing mild stomach discomfort for two days, which intensified on Friday night. The couple immediately sought medical attention, and a CT scan confirmed the presence of the cyst.

Dipika also shared that she had been experiencing persistent pain in her left shoulder, which initially caused concern. However, doctors have clarified that the shoulder pain is not linked to the cyst.

Procedure planned, hospital stay expected

According to Shoaib, doctors have advised a procedure to treat the cyst at an early stage. While it is not expected to be a major surgery, Dipika will need to be hospitalised for three to four days. The cyst will reportedly be treated through a targeted procedure rather than an extensive operation.

The development understandably brought back fears, especially given her previous diagnosis of an aggressive tumour.

However, the couple expressed relief that the issue was detected early through regular follow-ups and medical tests. Dipika admitted she was frightened at first but emphasised the importance of staying strong.

“Life brings such challenges. For those battling illnesses like I am, we have to face them with courage. I was scared, but I’m thankful we caught this in time. Regular check-ups are extremely important — don’t ignore even small signs,” she shared.

Possible change in treatment approach

Shoaib also mentioned that Dipika’s ongoing treatment plan could see changes after the procedure. Her oral chemotherapy may be discontinued and replaced with immunotherapy, depending on medical advice following surgery.

Ongoing cancer journey

In June 2025, Dipika underwent tumour-removal surgery as part of her liver cancer treatment, during which around 22 percent of her liver was removed. Since then, she has been open about her recovery process, documenting her emotional and physical journey through her YouTube channel.

Best known for her role in Sasural Simar Ka, Dipika has continued to keep fans updated about her health, sharing both setbacks and milestones along the way. Despite the latest challenge, she remains hopeful and determined, urging others to prioritise timely medical consultations and remain resilient in the face of health battles.
