Aditya Dhar’s sequel to his 2025 hit Dhurandhar, titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge (also known as Dhurandhar 2), will hit theatres on March 19. The makers released the film’s trailer on Saturday, teasing the continuation of the story introduced in the first instalment.

Dhurandhar 2 trailer released

The trailer shows the return of Ranveer Singh as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who is now climbing the ranks to take control of Lyari. It hints that he could become the next “Lyari ka badshah” (king). In the first film, his character was portrayed as an Indian spy who infiltrates a Baloch gang led by Akshaye Khanna’s Rahman Dakait.

The sequel continues the storyline, following Jaskirat as he works from inside the gang to dismantle a terror outfit. The trailer is backed by a remixed version of Ari Ari by Bombay Rockers. It concludes with Jaskirat declaring, “Now India will decide the future of Pakistan.”

About Dhurandhar

Dhurandhar released in theatres on December 5 last year and went on to become a massive box-office success despite mixed reviews, earning over ₹1,300 crore worldwide. The film was released only in Hindi and did not screen in Gulf countries due to its subject matter. Even so, it performed strongly at the box office, and expectations for the sequel remain high.

The film featured an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam, Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal, R. Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal, Sara Arjun as Yalina Jamali, and Rakesh Bedi as Jameel Jamal.

The first film concluded with Rahman Dakait being killed by Hamza, who then makes it appear as if someone else carried out the killing. It also revealed that Hamza was actually Jaskirat, sent to Pakistan by Ajay Sanyal.

The sequel, Dhurandhar 2, is expected to pick up from that point and continue the story.

Toxic avoids clash with Dhurandhar 2

When the March 19 release date for Dhurandhar 2 was announced in December, it was expected to clash with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups starring Yash. However, the latter has recently postponed its release to June due to the ongoing US–Israel–Iran conflict. The makers are hoping to release the film in Gulf countries once the situation stabilises.

This clears the way for Dhurandhar 2, which will also release in South Indian languages this time. The film will still face some competition in the Telugu states from Ustaad Bhagat Singh starring Pawan Kalyan.

Meanwhile, films such as Peddi starring Ram Charan and The Paradise featuring Nani have postponed their March releases. Project Hail Mary starring Ryan Gosling is also scheduled to release in India on March 26, a week after its US debut.
