Rumours of another delay for Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups have been firmly dismissed after actor Tara Sutaria confirmed that the film is still locked for its June 4, 2026 theatrical release.
The speculation had suggested that the Yash–starrer might miss its scheduled date once again, but Tara put the rumours to rest during her appearance on filmmaker Farah Khan’s YouTube vlog, stating clearly that there is no change in the release plan.
The film, produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, had earlier been pushed from its March 19 release window due to external disruptions linked to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. That shift had fuelled ongoing uncertainty around its final release timeline.
About Toxic
Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas, and directed by Mohandas, Toxic features a star-studded cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria alongside Yash in the lead role.
The film had earlier attracted controversy following the release of its teaser, with sections of social media and some organisations criticising certain visuals and questioning its content. The makers, however, have maintained that the film should be judged in its full context rather than teaser impressions.
Production update
Announced in 2023, Toxic went on floors in 2024 and has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, positioning it as a major pan-India project. Director Geetu Mohandas had previously praised Tara Sutaria’s performance, describing her as a naturally reserved actor whose portrayal of Rebecca carries emotional depth. Tara’s first look was released earlier this year, adding to growing anticipation around the film.
With Tara’s latest statement, the makers have effectively shut down fresh delay chatter, reaffirming that Toxic is on schedule for its June 4 release.
