Taking to Instagram on Friday, Rakesh Bedi addressed the rumours in a light-hearted video and clarified that no such payment has reached him. He said, “I’ve been getting messages asking if I received ₹1 crore from Dhurandhar. So I want to ask—where is it? I don’t know whose account or pocket it’s in, but it hasn’t come to me. It’s not showing in my bank account.”
He further added, “If it ever comes, I’ll let you know… or maybe I won’t. But right now, I haven’t received anything. If someone can help get it to me, please do!”
Following his clarification, fans filled the comments section urging the filmmakers, including Aditya Dhar, to acknowledge his contribution and consider rewarding him for his performance. Earlier reports had suggested that the makers were highly impressed with Bedi’s portrayal and that his role became one of the highlights of the film. However, the actor’s statement has now put those claims to rest.
In the film, Rakesh Bedi plays Pakistani politician Jameel Jamali, a character that gained widespread attention, with several scenes and dialogues going viral on social media, including the popular line “Baccha hai tu mera.”
