Raja Shivaji Box Office Day 1: Riteish Deshmukh’s Film Opens Strong with ₹11.35 Crore

Raja Shivaji, starring Riteish Deshmukh, opened in theatres on Friday and registered a solid start at the box office, collecting over ₹11 crore on its first day amid positive audience response.

As per Sacnilk, the film earned a net ₹11.35 crore across 6,192 shows in India on Day 1. The Marathi version led the collections with ₹8 crore, while the Hindi version contributed ₹3.35 crore.

The film witnessed its strongest occupancy in Sangli, followed by Pune, Mumbai, and Nashik, reflecting strong support from key Maharashtra regions.

About the film

Raja Shivaji features Riteish Deshmukh in the lead role and an extensive ensemble cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Genelia Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, and Amole Gupte.

The historical drama explores the early life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, focusing on his vision of Swarajya and his resistance against powerful regional and imperial forces. Shivaji Maharaj went on to establish the Maratha Empire in western India, with early campaigns such as the raid on Pune and the sack of Surat shaping his rise.

The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh under Mumbai Film Company and presented by Jio Studios.

News18 Showsha rated the film 3.5 stars, calling it a “sincere and ambitious attempt” that is slightly affected by pacing issues but supported by strong moments and a committed lead performance.
