Volodymyr Zelensky, Robert Fico discuss Ukraine’s European Union accession bid

Volodymyr Zelensky said he discussed Ukraine’s bid to join the European Union with Robert Fico during a conversation on Saturday.

In a post on X, Zelensky said both sides emphasised the need for strong ties between their countries and noted that it was significant to hear Slovakia reaffirm its support for Ukraine’s EU membership, while offering to share its own accession experience.

He also said the two leaders discussed the possibility of holding an in-person meeting in the near future.
