TCS Nashik sexual harassment case: Key accused Nida Khan arrested after 42-day manhunt

The Nashik City Police on Thursday night arrested absconding suspended BPO employee Nida Khan from Sambhajinagar after a 42-day search.

The arrest was confirmed by Nashik Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Mitke.

According to Karnik, a joint operation was carried out by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Nashik police and the Sambhajinagar city police to track down and arrest Khan.

Police sources said she will be brought to Nashik and produced before a local court on Friday.

The SIT, headed by Mitke, had launched a manhunt for Khan after an FIR was registered against her on March 26 for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

Investigators had earlier deployed multiple teams across Mumbai and adjoining areas, but Khan had managed to evade arrest for weeks.

As part of the investigation, the SIT had also questioned her husband in an attempt to trace her whereabouts.

Khan is among eight accused in the high-profile TCS-linked BPO case, in which nine staffers have accused eight co-workers of sexual exploitation and religious coercion.

While seven of the accused had already been arrested during the investigation, Khan was the only one who remained absconding until her arrest on Thursday night.
