How To Make Refreshing Jamun Sharbat At Home
Jamun Sharbat is a delicious summer drink that combines the natural sweetness and tangy flavour of jamun with a blend of spices. Easy to prepare and packed with nutrients, it makes for a perfect cooling beverage on hot days.
Ingredients
250 grams ripe jamun
3 cups chilled water
2 tablespoons sugar or honey
½ teaspoon black salt
½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Ice cubes, as required
Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Method
Step 1: Cook the Jamun
Wash the jamun thoroughly and place them in a saucepan with ½ cup of water. Simmer over medium heat for 5–6 minutes, or until the fruit softens and the flesh begins to separate from the seeds.
Step 2: Prepare the Jamun Extract
Allow the cooked jamun to cool completely. Gently mash the fruit and remove the seeds. Strain the pulp and liquid through a sieve into a large pitcher to obtain a smooth jamun concentrate.
Step 3: Mix the Sharbat
Add chilled water, lemon juice, sugar or honey, black salt, and roasted cumin powder to the concentrate. Stir well until the sweetener and spices are fully dissolved.
Step 4: Serve
Fill tall glasses with ice cubes and pour the prepared sharbat over them.
Step 5: Garnish and Enjoy
Top with fresh mint leaves and serve immediately for a refreshing, flavour-packed drink.
