Kangana Ranaut Takes Aim at Bollywood Over Silence on Jharkhand Students’ Protest: ‘Ye Doglapan Nahi Chalega’

In an interview with ANI, the actor-turned-politician questioned why celebrities who had previously expressed concern over protests at Jantar Mantar were not showing similar support for students in Jharkhand.

Kangana was asked about her recent criticism of veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah over his remarks concerning student protests. Defending her comments, she argued that the film industry’s approach to such issues had remained consistent over the years.

She recalled the security situation surrounding the Parliament attack and claimed that a large crowd had also gathered outside her residence in the past, requiring a heavy police presence.

Turning to the Jharkhand protests, Kangana questioned why celebrities were not extending the same sympathy to students there.

She accused members of the film industry of shedding “crocodile tears” over the Jantar Mantar protests while remaining silent about the difficulties faced by students in Jharkhand.

Kangana said, “Yeh doglapan film industry ka nahi chalega,” while calling on Bollywood personalities to show the same concern for the Jharkhand protesters.

Kangana was also asked about her earlier controversial comments involving Gen Z and participants in the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protests.

She had previously described some young protesters as “Generation Gutter”, prompting criticism over her remarks.

Responding to the controversy, Kangana said her statement was directed at specific people and not at Gen Z as a whole. She argued that her reference to the “gutter” was connected to those who described themselves as “cockroaches”.

Kangana also stressed that she had not claimed that all young people belonged in the “gutter”, saying her remarks were aimed at particular individuals or groups.

Her latest comments have once again sparked discussion around Bollywood’s response to student protests and the role of celebrities in political and social issues.
