The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has awarded the commercial and TV production rights for its upcoming T20I series against India to Pakistan-based TransGroup, a company linked with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The ACB, while announcing the series schedule on August 12, also revealed its commercial and broadcast partners. TransGroup has been appointed as the ACB’s Global Media Rights Syndication Partner, while TPT360 will oversee media production. FanCode has been named the official streaming partner for the Indian market, with Vany continuing as the board’s long-term clothing partner.
India and Afghanistan to Renew T20I Rivalry
The three-match series will be an important occasion for Afghanistan, as it will be the first bilateral series between the two sides hosted by the ACB, even though the matches will take place in India.
Afghanistan has been forced to stage its home matches at overseas venues because international cricket is not currently being played in the country. India and the UAE have frequently hosted Afghanistan’s home fixtures in recent years.
The first T20I is scheduled for September 13, followed by matches on September 15 and 17. The series is expected to add to the growing rivalry between the teams, who have regularly competed against each other in international cricket.
Afghanistan previously toured India in June 2026 for a multi-format series. India won the three-match ODI series 3-0 after the teams played a one-off Test, with the ODIs held in Dharamsala, Lucknow and Chennai.
The last bilateral T20I series between India and Afghanistan took place in January 2024. India won all three matches, with the Bengaluru encounter producing a dramatic finish. Both teams scored 212 runs before India secured victory in the second Super Over.
