Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic has been crowned Miss World 2026, taking home the coveted.
Title at the pageant’s grand finale in Vietnam on Saturday. She succeeds Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri, who was crowned Miss World in 2025.
The 24-year-old beauty queen emerged as the winner after competing against contestants from across the globe. Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés Alabern was named the first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty finished as the second runner-up.
A graduate in Business Management and Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana, Mola has pursued a diverse career spanning education, modelling and journalism. She works as a Literature and Social Studies teacher, is a professional model and has also worked as a news correspondent.
Beyond her professional career, Mola is known for her community-focused work. She founded Voices of Tomorrow, an initiative that seeks to expand access to English education and create opportunities for children and young people from vulnerable communities.
Mola has also worked with Univision New York’s Ventana a Quisqueya, where she reported on Dominican culture, social issues and stories from local communities. Her commitment to social causes has also been recognised by the Miss World organisation, which has highlighted her work with children and her regular visits to orphanages and girls’ homes.
Her victory marks the Dominican Republic’s second Miss World crown. The country first claimed the title in 1982, when Mariasela Álvarez was crowned Miss World.
India’s representative at Miss World 2026 was Nikita Porwal. Her journey in the competition ended after she made it to the Top 40.
