Mirzapur The Movie Enters Rs 100 Crore Club in 4 Days, Pankaj Tripathi-Ali Fazal Film Scores Big

Mirzapur The Movie has maintained its impressive momentum at the box office, crossing the ₹100 crore mark in India within four days of its release.

The Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal-led action crime thriller has performed well above initial trade expectations and is now on course for a strong theatrical run.

The film opened with ₹25.75 crore on its first day, surpassing trade estimates of ₹18-20 crore. Its opening was also stronger than the first-day collections of Saiyaara (₹22 crore) and Awarapan 2 (₹21.50 crore).

The film continued to gain momentum over the weekend, collecting ₹32 crore on Saturday. Sunday brought an even bigger jump, with the film earning ₹36 crore, its highest single-day collection so far.

Collections dropped on Monday, as expected for a weekday, but the film still added ₹15.50 crore. Its four-day net collection in India now stands at ₹109.25 crore.

The milestone is significant for a franchise film that does not feature a conventional Bollywood superstar in the lead. The strong response suggests that the popularity of the Mirzapur universe and its much-loved characters has translated effectively to the big screen.

The film’s biggest strength for existing fans is its familiarity. The return of popular characters and the franchise’s established world gives the movie a strong dose of nostalgia.

While it may not reach the heights of the first two seasons, the film offers a more satisfying experience than the third season for many franchise followers. Viewers unfamiliar with the series can still follow the narrative, although the movie is clearly designed with existing fans in mind.

The post-credit scene also leaves the door open for another chapter in the Mirzapur universe. While the story arguably has more room to breathe in the longer OTT format, the theatrical version delivers enough action, drama and familiar “bhaukaal” to keep loyal fans engaged.

Directed by Gurmeet Singh in his feature-film debut, Mirzapur The Movie is written by Puneet Krishna and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment. The film expands the story of the popular Amazon Prime Video series Mirzapur into a theatrical format.

Pankaj Tripathi returns as Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi, while Ali Fazal reprises his role as Govind “Guddu” Pandit. Divyenndu returns as Phoolchand “Munna” Tripathi, and Jitendra Kumar plays Vinay “Bablu” Pandit, taking over the role previously played by Vikrant Massey.

The cast also features Ravi Kishan as Babban Yadav, Abhishek Banerjee as Compounder, Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi and Shweta Tripathi as Gajgamani “Golu” Gupta.

Shriya Pilgaonkar plays Sweety Gupta, Harshita Gaur portrays Dimpy Pandit, while Sushant Singh, Mohit Malik, Sheeba Chaddha and Rajesh Tailang also reprise key roles.

Kulbhushan Kharbanda returns as Satyanand “Bauji” Tripathi, with Shaji Choudhary as Maqbool Khan and Anjum Sharma as Sharad Shukla. Sonal Chauhan plays Mumtaz Bibi, while Anangsha Biswas appears as Zarina.
