The movie has maintained a steady run at the box office in its initial days.

Prahaar: Day 2 Box Office Performance

The film’s narrative combines courtroom proceedings with details from Nikam’s personal life and the background of the 26/11 attacks. While the story covers several important aspects of the prosecutor’s career, its multiple narrative strands have drawn mixed reactions from critics.

One review observed that the film struggles to maintain a clear central focus as it moves between the terror attacks, the subsequent trials, Nikam’s family relationships and Kasab’s life in prison. The review also acknowledged several emotionally powerful scenes and praised the performances of the cast, while questioning whether these moments were sufficient to hold the film together as a cohesive drama.

About Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam

Produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner, Prahaar stars Rajkummar Rao as veteran public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. The film traces his involvement in some of India’s most prominent criminal cases, including the 1993 Bombay bombings and the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

Lalit Prabhakar portrays Ajmal Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist captured during the 26/11 attacks, while Wamiqa Gabbi plays Jyoti Nikam, the prosecutor’s wife. Jaideep Ahlawat appears as Chaudhary Zulfiqar Ali, Ashish Vidyarthi portrays Justice M.L. Tahaliyani, Sikandar Kher plays Abbas Kazmi, and Nassar features as P. Chidambaram.

By combining legal proceedings, the investigation of major terror cases and the personal challenges faced by Nikam, the film attempts to present a broader picture of the prosecutor’s professional journey and personal life.
