Trump Hosts Tech Titans at White House, Musk Missing from Guest List.
US President Donald Trump on Thursday hosted leading US technology executives at the White House, spotlighting artificial intelligence and the billions in investments their companies are making across the country.
Apple’s Tim Cook, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Google’s Sundar Pichai, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, and OpenAI’s Sam Altman were among those at the table. Conspicuously absent was Elon Musk, once a Trump ally but now sidelined after a public split earlier this year.
Trump lauded the gathering as a “high-IQ group,” calling the executives “brilliant people leading a revolution in business and genius.” He also pressed each on their investment commitments: Cook and Zuckerberg cited $600 billion each, Pichai $250 billion, and Nadella around $80 billion annually.
The dinner also included Shift4 founder Jared Isaacman, a former Musk associate whose earlier NASA nomination by Trump was withdrawn. His presence underscored shifting loyalties as Trump builds new ties in Silicon Valley.
