Charlie Kirk Murder Case: Texts Show Tyler Robinson Planned Killing, Confessed to Partner.

Court filings reveal that Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk, admitted to the killing in a series of text messages to his transgender partner. Kirk, 31, was struck in the neck by a rifle shot while speaking at Utah Valley University last week.

Robinson was arrested a day later and has been charged with murder, obstruction of justice and witness tampering. Prosecutors say he left handwritten notes describing his plan and texted his partner that he had been preparing the attack for over a week. “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out,” he wrote.

Investigators say Robinson urged his partner to delete the messages and remain silent if questioned. Police later found a shell casing with unique etchings in his home matching those from the abandoned rifle used in the shooting, along with bullet-ridden targets.

According to prosecutors, Robinson’s parents encouraged him to surrender with the help of a retired sheriff’s deputy. He was taken into custody near St. George, Utah, 240 miles from the shooting site.

The FBI is also probing Robinson’s online activity in a Discord chatroom, which included more than 20 people, to determine if the killing was part of a wider extremist network. The charges carry sentence enhancements for political motivation and for committing violence in the presence of children.
