Achieving luminous, wedding-day skin is rarely the result of last-minute facials or fleeting beauty trends. A true, lasting glow is built through consistency, balanced nourishment, and mindful habits practised patiently over time. Healthy skin, after all, reflects daily care — not just pre-event preparation.
Aesthetician and cosmetologist Sreeja Shreshtha recently shared the skincare practices she followed diligently for an entire year leading up to her wedding. In an Instagram video, she emphasised that her approach was never about quick “bridal hacks,” but about cultivating sustainable routines.
“Next month, it will be almost one year since my wedding — and I’m still doing these things,” she explained. “That says a lot, right? These weren’t bridal tricks. They were habits I wanted for life. It was never about glowing for one day. I want to feel good in my skin forever.”
Morning Ritual: Saffron and Black Raisin Water
One of the cornerstones of her routine was a simple morning drink. Sreeja began her day with water infused with three strands of saffron and five black raisins soaked overnight, consumed after her methi water.
According to her, the blend supported internal balance and overall well-being. “Just soak them overnight — no boiling,” she noted. “Eat the raisins and drink the water. I wasn’t consistent at first, but after about two months, I felt more balanced and less sluggish. For me, it really helped with hormonal rhythm, menstrual health, and that inner glow no topical product can truly replicate.”
Collagen for Skin Support
Sreeja also introduced collagen supplements into her routine, not for anti-ageing claims but to reinforce skin health during demanding periods.
“I started collagen because I wanted my skin to feel resilient and hydrated, especially during stressful months when sleep was erratic,” she shared. “I genuinely feel it contributed to maintaining hydration and plumpness. I still continue it regularly.”
Professionally Formulated Brightening Masks
Instead of experimenting with DIY treatments, Sreeja opted for professionally formulated skincare masks, using them twice weekly to refresh and revitalise her skin. Her preferred rotation included:
-
Axis-Y Gel Resolution Mask, along with the Glow Peel every two weeks for gentle exfoliation
-
Klairs Turmeric Mask
-
Mary & May Rose Hyaluronic Mask
She underscored that visible results came not from extreme measures but from small, repeatable actions sustained over time.
Her experience highlights a broader skincare truth: long-term radiance is shaped by patience and discipline. Rather than relying on dramatic interventions, steady routines and thoughtful choices often deliver the most enduring improvements.
