Afghanistan completed a commanding 3–0 ODI series sweep over Bangladesh with a massive 200-run victory in the third and final match at Abu Dhabi.

After posting a formidable 293 for 9, Afghanistan’s bowlers bundled out Bangladesh for just 93 runs in under 28 overs, capping a series of dominant performances following their earlier T20I losses.

Afghanistan’s Batting Highlights

Afghanistan’s innings was anchored by half-centuries from Ibrahim Zadran and Mohammad Nabi. Openers Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz set the tone with a 99-run opening partnership, giving Afghanistan a strong platform. Gurbaz struck five fours and a six in his 42, while Zadran steadied the innings, reaching fifty and adding 74 runs with Sediqullah Atal for the second wicket.

Even when part-time spinner Saif Hassan took three quick wickets, Afghanistan recovered through Azmatullah Omarzai and Nabi, who stitched together a key partnership. Nabi’s late blitz—58 not out off 38 balls, including multiple sixes in the final overs—helped push the total to 293.

Bangladesh’s Batting Collapse

Bangladesh’s batting woes continued as the team never looked capable of a chase. Bilal Sami starred with a five-wicket haul, while Rashid Khan’s early three-wicket burst dismantled the top order. Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, and Nurul Hasan were dismissed cheaply, and wickets fell in quick succession. Saif Hassan provided some resistance with 43 off 54 balls, but lacked support from the other end. The innings folded rapidly at 93, marking Bangladesh’s heaviest defeat in the series.

Series Impact

The comprehensive win highlighted Afghanistan’s growing strength and consistency across formats. This sweep marks their first-ever 3–0 ODI series victory over Bangladesh, signaling the team’s rise as a competitive force in international cricket. Bangladesh, meanwhile, will need to rebuild their batting and middle-order strategy after repeated heavy losses.
