Mahavatar Narsimha Crosses ₹220 Crore in 29 Days, Eyes ₹250 Crore Milestone.
Hombale Films’ Mahavatar Narsimha shows no signs of slowing down at the box office. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the animated mythological blockbuster has maintained a solid run for nearly a month since its July 25 release.
On Day 29, the film collected ₹2 crore across India, taking its domestic total to ₹220.75 crore, according to Sacnilk.com. Despite stiff competition from Son of Sardaar 2, Dhadak 2, War 2 and Coolie, the film continues to lead at the box office. With no major releases this week, trade experts expect it to soon cross the ₹250 crore mark.
The film narrates the story of Lord Vishnu’s fourth avatar, Narsimha, who appears as a half-man, half-lion to slay the demon king Hiranyakashyap and protect his devout follower, Prahlad.
Following its success, the makers are expanding the universe into a seven-part saga spanning the next decade, with titles like Mahavatar Parshuram (2027), Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029), Mahavatar Dhawkadhesh (2031), Mahavatar Gokulananda (2033), and Mahavatar Kalki in two parts (2035 & 2037).
An official OTT release date hasn’t been announced yet, though the film is expected to arrive on JioHotstar after its theatrical run, continuing Hombale Films’ past collaborations with the platform.
