WFI Lifts Suspension on Olympic Medallist Aman Sehrawat and Junior Grappler Neha Sangwan.

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) on Friday lifted the suspensions of Olympic medallist Aman Sehrawat and junior wrestler Neha Sangwan, who had been barred earlier this year for missing weight at major international competitions.

The move clears the way for both athletes to take part in the upcoming Pro Wrestling League (PWL) auction. Aman, Paris Games bronze medallist, was suspended after turning up overweight at the World Championships in Zagreb, while Neha faced action following her disqualification at the Junior Worlds in Bulgaria.

Both wrestlers submitted written explanations, calling the incidents their first lapses and assuring they would not recur. The WFI Disciplinary Committee, taking into account their strong international track records, recommended leniency. WFI President Sanjay Kumar Singh accepted the recommendation and lifted their suspensions.

The federation cautioned that any future violations related to weight management or discipline would invite “stricter disciplinary action.”
