Andhra Pradesh Launches Free JEE, NEET Coaching for 1 Lakh Govt College Students.
In a major push to improve access to competitive exam preparation, Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Minister Nara Lokesh on Sunday launched a free coaching initiative for JEE and NEET aspirants studying in government junior colleges across the state.
As per an official release, the initiative will benefit over one lakh students from 1,355 government colleges. Specialised study material, prepared by expert faculty over the past six months, will be distributed to students pursuing MPC (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) and BiPC (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) streams.
“This initiative gives every Andhra student a fair chance to dream big and achieve bigger,” said Lokesh. He emphasized the state’s aim to bridge the gap between private and public education by ensuring quality learning opportunities for all.
To accommodate the coaching schedule, college timings have been extended by an hour, now running from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Students will receive at least two hours of targeted coaching daily, with junior lecturers trained specifically to deliver the new curriculum effectively.
Alongside free academic resources, the program includes weekly tests, regular performance reviews, and continuous progress tracking—measures designed to replicate the structure of private coaching centres.
Calling it the “first-of-its-kind” in scale and intent, Lokesh positioned the program as a cornerstone of the Andhra Pradesh Model of Education, focused on equity and excellence. “This is about creating an environment where every student can confidently prepare for national-level exams, no matter their socio-economic background,” he added.
The initiative marks a significant step toward transforming the state’s public education system and making high-quality exam preparation accessible to all.
