Anu Malik Demands Credit for ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ in ‘Border 2’, Recreated from ‘Sandese Aate Hain’

Bollywood composer Anu Malik has claimed he deserves recognition for the recreated song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ in Border 2, which is adapted from the iconic Sandese Aate Hain. The film’s teaser was recently released, with Mithoon handling the recreation and new lyrics by Manoj Muntashir. The song is set to hit platforms on January 2.

Original Creators and New Voices
Sandese Aate Hain featured music by Anu Malik and lyrics by Javed Akhtar. The recreated track brings back original singer Sonu Nigam, alongside Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra, and Diljit Dosanjh. Malik expressed confidence that he and Akhtar will receive proper credit for their original work.

Anu Malik Speaks
In an interview with PTI, Malik said, “The song is recreated, and I’m not part of it, but they should give my name because I created the tune. Border 2 can’t exist without Sandese Aate Hain. Both Javed sahab and I contributed to this song, so our names must appear.

“Sonu is a fabulous singer, and Arijit is magical. This combination will be amazing, but the melody remains mine. You can’t take that away from Anu Malik and Javed sahab—the song is legendary.”

Malik also recalled the patriotic appeal of the original: “When I sang this song, I gave it my all out of love for my country. India is the best country, and this song reflected that pride.”
