Asha Bhosle’s Son Dismisses Death Hoax: “She Is Absolutely Fine.”

Legendary singer Asha Bhosle became the subject of widespread concern after false rumours about her death circulated on social media. The fake news originated from a Facebook post by a user named Shabana Shaikh, who shared a garlanded photo of the veteran singer with the misleading caption:

“Famous singer Asha Bhosle passed away – a musical era ends (01 July 2025).”

The post quickly went viral, prompting a wave of condolence messages across platforms. However, the news was entirely false.

Her son, Anand Bhosle, dismissed the rumours in a statement to ETimes, calling them “completely untrue” and urging people not to spread misinformation.

Public Appearance Just Days Ago
The 90-year-old singer was recently seen at a public event commemorating the 85th birth anniversary of her late husband and iconic music composer R.D. Burman. Dressed in a pastel saree and pearl necklace, Asha Bhosle paid tribute to him by garlanding his photograph and displaying his prized harmonium and awards.

Speaking to IANS, she recalled working with Burman:

“I never had any difficulty tuning with him… I could sing his songs easily. But singers today will find them challenging.”

A Life of Music, Movies, and More
Asha Bhosle’s life extends far beyond music. She married Ganpatrao Bhosle at 16 and had three children before the two separated. Later, she married R.D. Burman in 1980, remaining by his side until his passing in 1994.

In 2013, she made her debut as a lead actress in the film Mai at age 79. Known for her culinary skills, she has also launched restaurants in cities like Dubai, Manchester, and Kuwait, turning her passion for cooking into a global brand.

Alive, Well, and Still Celebrated
Despite social media speculation, Asha Bhosle remains in good health. Her family has urged the public not to believe or share unverified information.

India’s beloved melody queen is very much alive — and still admired worldwide.
