Actor Ashutosh Rana has weighed in on Jaya Bachchan’s recent controversial remarks about the paparazzi, offering a more empathetic perspective.
Speaking to IANS, he highlighted how human emotions shape reactions, noting that sensitivity often helps us reconsider harsh impulses.
Rana said that every individual holds inherent value, adding: “We are emotional and sensitive beings. Because of our emotions, we may sometimes attack someone, but our sensitivity also makes us realise that God has created the other person just as He has created us.”
His statement comes amid growing reactions within the industry. ITA founder and actor Shashi Ranjan openly disagreed with Jaya Bachchan’s comments on paparazzi culture, calling her stance her “personal opinion” and expressing strong disagreement.
Ameesha Patel also came out in support of the paparazzi, praising their dedication and tireless work ethic. She described media photographers as hardworking professionals who deserve respect.
For context, Jaya Bachchan recently stirred debate when she stated she has “no connection” with the paparazzi and questioned their professionalism, qualifications and increasingly intrusive behaviour. Criticising their conduct, she said: “Yeh jo bahar gande, tight pant pehnke, haath mein mobile leke… they think just because they have a mobile, they can take your picture and say what they want. And the kind of comments they pass – what kind of people are these people? Kahan se aate hain? Kis tarah ka education hai? Kya background hai?”
